They certainly WILL NOT be installed on any performance frame, but they might find a place on a "no name" or mass produced frame. The only performance comparison I can make would be in reference to...

Look roubaix , a3.1

Some '90s LOOKs for $7.50 a pair, perfect bearing function. Black pedal bodies are easy to touch up with paint. Nice little feature with the LOOK logo cast into the pedal body, haven't seen this on...

A rare "thrift store" find; only because this enterprising business chose to advertise the item on CL, otherwise I'd have never have looked for them.

A great pair of lace-up shoes, barely used...

Lyotard and Gian Robert

More scavenging: Lyotard "Marcel Berthet" pedals and Gian Robert mechs from late '50s early '60s. I have no idea what to use the Gian Robert stuff for, but the pedals are English thread and will make...

Thanks for the info; only other Universals I have are very early Mod.51 and 39. I thought the 125s were used in the 70s, but they're fine for the price; $15.
Hope you are doing well; I'm travelling...

Universal Brakes

Some Mod. 125 calipers w/light "gold" anodizing. They must be old; still using stamped logos. Picked from the bike shop's "junk" drawer; even the manager wondered what they were doing in the "budget...

SILVA BB Shell

Thank you for the identification. I am not familiar with most lug/BB shell manufacturers; I have yet to see that shell on another Moser or any other frame. I'm curious as to when Moser started and...

Rossin BB Shell

One of mine also; it looks and is tough (I assume Rossin's proprietary design). I also like this shell from my Moser Leader utilizing an integral bridge design. I don't know the year of the frame nor...

Rusty Rossin

Other "bad" spots to "restore": paint is peeling around the bridge, might have to strip more than expected, still pretty solid paint aside from the cable tunnel corrosion and various chips and/or...

Frame repair

That certainly is an option. I'm not sure as to how paint adheres to that stuff, but it probably would be fine with proper prep.
I have a micro torch that is good for this type of work, certainly...

Rusty rossin

A frame that everyone freaked out about thinking that it was badly rusted out. Someone wanted to make a "stool" from it (poor waste of "SLX" tubing, I've got some "Carbolite" they can do that with)....

Early Huret/Cyclo Derailleurs

Good question! They do seem mighty similar. Same "pull chain" actuator design. Although, you the Huret has no upper pivot, one solid plate; whereas the Cyclo does, if I'm not misinterpreting the...

'50s HURET COMPETITION Rear Derailleur

Sorry, photos didn't show the "Huret" on the outer plate (the only plate!). After getting it in hand, I was able to ID with Velobase as a "competition" model that should have a "pull chain" coming...

Huret something

Probably doesn't work, but would be a nice '50s build component. Time to fabricate!

Odd that my first exposure to "GB" parts was on my '75 Colnago; since then I've only had that brand show up on mid-high level racers, so a surprise to see one on a sport model. Thank you for the...

Raleigh "sprite" ?

Either a donor or a rebuild. Missing parts, but functional with great bearings all around. Not sure of year, got from original owner who thought she bought it in '74; but hub dates from '76, and...

Bikes and Beers, Great Combination

Hi Steve,

That frame, as determined by myself and others, is a Swiss marque; but it would seem that the frame/fork are all Italian. There are indications that it was built by Giovanni Losa,...

Kdog, I'm a bit puzzled with that serial #. It's definitely later than early 60's given the round headbadge (appears to be original) came in the mid 60's, paint/decals would also be mid 60's or...

GT "SATURN" Team frame set

Actual Saturn team bike. I don't know if the frame design was unique to the pro team or also produced for retail sales. I'd assume the sizing is custom made for the rider (in this case Brian Walton)....
