I've use them. They are a period restoration tire and work perfectly for that use. If you are a rider that pushes the envelope on the trails, get modern rubber.

I just read the bike's story on mtbr. I initially questioned the year with that fork. Cool story and a unique Ritchey. Love those tires - be careful on the trails with old tires, even NOS. :)

Try the short cage RD and remove a couple of links to increase the chain tension. I ran a 1x9 drivetrain off road and rarely had any chain drops with that combination.
