Only works if the 2nd buyer is provided a copy of the original 1st owner's dated sales receipt. Hence a bit weird that's not an offered add-on buying from TPC. they currently have almost 100 Treks...

Yeah, one of those exceptions I think is Trek, where the warranty can extend to the 2nd purchaser. But by definition with TPC, you'll technically always be at least the 3rd owner.
