Only thing I would add is that a laptop has the advantage of swappable batteries, allowing you to in theory carry a spare battery and use that until you can get the other charged. That said, these days, a high-end smartphone can do much of what you probably want if you're touring and you'll get a lot more life out of a single charge. Another advantage is their charge cycles are going to be shorter than bringing back a laptop battery from zero.
