8 speed shifters don't have clock springs.



You'll need to cut the post off.

Of course, if you actually have 9 speed shifters being used in a shimergo 9 speed setup the new parts will be fine.

His shifters are pretty worn out, they see a ton of use daily. Probably at the very least 30+ miles a day almost 365 for many many years. He is running them in some sort of friction mode. He is an interesting character and his bike is an oddity.

I am glad to know at least two of the parts should work ok or with a little modification. Thanks for the suggestions
