What's increased is the number of spectators not paying attention to the race and actually facing away from the oncoming peloton, frantically waving at the helicopter in a pathetic attempt to get on tv. Often they are on their cell phones waving to their buddy back home. And then there are the idiots taking selfies with 100 riders rushing at them at 25 mph. And the competition to have the craziest, most whacked outfit has gotten out of control too.
