However, is that Z-team replica actually a replica? My gut, sadly, is that it isn't. I don't mean to piss on yer chips, but all Z LeMond's from the day, whether they were Billato or Della Santa built, had "LEMOND" pantographing etched into the frame:
1 - Dropouts
2 - Top of seatstays
3 - Sometimes bottom bracket shell
4 - Fork crowns
5 - Sometimes rear brake bridge
I have to say that yours looks like a decent frame that's been repainted and re-decaled to look like a Z-replica. I've never seen any Z-team frame with a Cinelli bottom bracket shell. Sorry! Really hope I'm wrong!
Hey. Yeah. The BB shell has his mark. I confirmed with Roland that this is one of his very early Lemond frames. In the beginning they didn't have a consistent sources of parts. That Cinelli Spoiler BB shell was one he used a lot apparently.
What I'm really wondering is if the paint is original. Mine is so close to yours. My serial number is DS 123. What's yours?
