I'm old to bike riding, but new to eBikes. Mine is a class 1 which means it can't exceed 20 mph. States are introducing regulations for pedal assist that make sense to me. They are to be street ridden when in assist mode and only on sidewalks if the assist is disengaged. The main positive that I see is that it extends riding range (and therefore movement) with less stress on joints and cardio.
