While the exact origin of the cocktail is unknown, one of the most accredited stories is that it was named after the Italian vermouth brand, Martini, which was manufactured by the company Martini & Rossi, the eponymous sponsor of the various Martini Racing teams. So, those 1990s Bianchi shod squads are related to the cocktail.
