Forty beautiful old school miles yesterday on a 1961 Herse in the Bay Area.
I put on an Ideale 92 Diagonale saddle this summer. Have been pleased to find it fits me even better than a Brooks B17 (my usual default saddle). And the extra inch of backwards adjustment on the Ideale has also improved my fit on the bike. Who else knew that classic French saddles may give a better fit with classic French frame angles?
Bike still makes me smile every time I shift the chainstay mounted, continous cable activated, door spring energized "Cyclo" rear derailleur. Works every time, and was a top choice for wide range gearing for nearly three decades (1930s, 40s, and 50s).
