To get any elevation around here you need to head northwest into the driftless region of Wisconsin/NW IL. Absolutely punishing to ride out there because all the hills are super steep and unrelenting. You have to bust your ass to get up a 8-12% grade, but then the backside is so short there's no time to recover before the next one.

There's a local 200K gravel ride called "Ten Thousand" which heads West towards the Mississippi, with, you guessed it, 10k of climbing. From what I hear the attrition rate is high.
