But, ls01, just use the adhesive tape like Stan's, and as wide as the whole rim bed. It doesn't matter if tubeless-compatible or not; that's the best way to avoid the strip moving over.
Here's what I see. There is a narrow trough in the center of the rim bed. Thats for the bead to go into to give some room for the bead to go over the bead of the rim. But the first tire bead is already in there , so no room for the second sidewall. Without that extra force the bead isn't big enough to go around the outside of the rim. I get about 10 inches I have to use levers on, and its a regular *****. This is also why the rim strip is moving. The tire beads get under it ,and push it over.
if the tape is thicker, no way is that going to work.
