I'll stretch my back and use a foam roller when it's injured, for pain relief, but otherwise I agree: It just puts things at risk.

I don't stretch the legs either. I did it for specific problems and injuries when I was running, but never found daily stretching helpful for performance. Everything on me is so short and tight I could barely do the stretches anyway. While some people obviously benefit, controlled studies don't indicate any good effects at the population level.
