They are lighter than the comparable Arkel panniers by about 400g. There are lighter panniers out there but those aren’t necessarily waterproof. As for stiffness, that’s the reason I like them. They hold their shape. When touring, I don’t take usually take them off to carry them around and for commuting, I have other bags I use that are easier to carry.
