I I don't recall any "good" deals in the way I think you mean, i.e. Confente-level stuff at Huffy prices. I have always pretty much paid or traded value to get value - and I'm fine with that.

To my way of thinking, my best deal was trading a 1986 De Rosa F/F/HS for a 1965ish Cinelii Speciale Corsa frame only (I already had a fork and a headset - long story told before). Some might think I came out on the short end of the deal. But I traded a frame that I really liked and that I thought rode really well for a frame that I had given up hope of finding (I'm a big boy, and it's a 64cm), that I think is the best riding frame I have ever been on. The De Rosa was a great frame, but the Cinelli feels better to me. I would make that trade again in a hearbeat.

Of course, if that De Rosa crossed my path at a Huffy-like price . . . .
