Well, actually, I think y'all can be singular or plural, depending on context (i.e., number of people being addressed). And indeed, I have heard all y'all when it is being used in the plural. But y'alls is just plain incorrect.

Y'all has the same etymological origins as youse and yinz, all of which have essentially the same usage: a non-gendered pronoun, used in the singular or plural.
