Just got done with a Zwift interval session on incline mode, rather than ERG. Yeah, so much better. I don't know what it is with ERG, but it's so unnatural that I can never get in to a rhythm and that's just detrimental to me trying to focus and wring out an effort. In fairness, this was a Sweet Spot session, so it was pretty easy overall, but the RPE for each interval was more in line with what I'd expect.
ERG is definitely unnatural. It forces you to put out X watts, regardless of your gearing/cadence/wheel speed...or die trying. Incline mode puts the control in your hands...uhhh...legs.
