I think you will find that the majority of those miles are bridle paths.

Exploring is good! I've also done some poking about in Pine Ridge Conservation Area just south of 495 in Melville. It's a bit of a maze with lots of wide (and often beat up from ATVs) trails. Some very steep grades in there, and yes there IS a "pine ridge". There is some single track and that loose gravelly sand. Exploring is good.
