I don't ride New England winters, but I agree with you about early spring. It's also the season where the new potholes become apparent and there's a lot of sand and salt still on the road, so riding in wet conditions really makes the gunk stick to the bike. Late spring is wonderful, I'm also ok with heat, so summer's long days are pretty terrific. Fall may be the best around here, though. The leaves are gorgeous and the roads are generally clean. Just need to watch the weather forecasts to avoid rain.
