He lives in Montana so I can’t help, he’s going to a LBS to get a 25 & 28 take off old tire to test.
Wish those older bikes took larger tires. I have a 2001 Litespeed Arenberg and am running a 25 on the rear though it rubs when climbing out of the saddle. Measuring won’t give you the answer because it doesn’t take flex into account.
