Since I have a hard limit of 3 complete bikes but I just can’t help but tinker, I’ve been really thinking of building disassembling my current fixed gear bike and use some of its parts to build my track frame in to a fixed gear or single speed road bike.

Biggest thing I’m struggling with is how to gear it - I really want to build it as a fixed gear but if I pick a ratio that will allow me to get up some of these hills without too much pain will be super spinny going downhill.

Since I’ll be running front and rear brakes I’m tempted to just run a single speed freewheel so that I won’t have to worry about my legs keeping up with the bike going downhill. But singlespeeds aren’t as fun to ride as a fixed gear…

I really like how it looks with this cockpit though, and I think I’m going to run my set of Mirage Monoplanar brakes
