It's much better because the teams are far more even, and really not that great (compared to previous eras), no one is sending 8 guys to the front and preventing anyone from doing anything.
It has been fantastic. The yellow jersey being attacked 50kms from the finish. For much of the last 30years a dominant team would control mountain stages until the last kilometre. I have watched every stage from km zero because each stage has had its drama.
