Seriously, your chainguard options will all require modifying or downgrading your crankset, and your pants cuff will still rub the chain. Trouser clips are cheaper, less invasive, and more effective.

Can you elaborate on why my pants would still rub the chain? I haven't had this issue on any of my previous "city bikes". I guess it's a matter of q-factor as well?
