Agreed Ken. For some reason my luck with finding decent MTBs for little $$ is much better than finding road bikes for similar $$. One would think most older MTBs would be thrashed to bits but the opposite seems true in these parts. I grabbed a bike headed for the dump that included an extra set of tires and tubes and it only needed some light maintenance. I love free!
