Neutering a male cat doesn’t always solve a problem of spraying or peeing. I had a neutered male cat many years ago, would spray the inside of our bedroom windows. He was living with an older male cat, they seemingly got along with each other, but younger guy sprayed the Venetian blinds. It was easy to clean with no residual odor so we just dealt with it. Then older companion cat passed away and younger cat stopped spraying. I assumed some form of competition that we were unaware of, existed.
