I bought the bike on Saturday for $100 without seeing it... I was fooled by the ad, which only showed the good stuff. Plus, I wasn't savvy enough to catch the iffy stuff. Spent about 3 hours cleaning, de-rusting, and tune-up. Also a newer chain...I had never seen one as stretched as the one it came with.
So I messed up on that one! I'm more of a MTB guy. That's what happens when you don't stay in your lane haha.
You did quite well I think, aside from the frame discrepancies, there was not a single component on that bike that matched the cataloged Champione del Mondo bikes from the early 80s.
