Well it is certainly more obvious on mountain bikes when riding through rock gardens etc. QRs are long since dead and buried in that category unless you are riding a C&V rig. On a road bike it probably doesn’t matter much, but I do prefer having a thru’ axle screwed firmly into the dropout vs clamping in a slot.
