Think that's an '89? and other examples online present with a fully chromed fork, and that the head tube in that particular photo is the victim of a trick of light.



If you look closely down below you'll notice the wheel is secured to the inside of the fork with those swingy clippy things Schwinn used at that time rather than Lawyer's Lips. So unless they swapped in another Schwinn fork, that's most likely the Original.
