Old Blackburn Workstand -- New Jaws

Since keeping vintage stuff working is in our blood, I decided to share this:
My old (+/-35 years) Blackburn workstand was in dire need of new jaws.

Being they aren't replaceable (since they are riveted in) and new ones aren't available, I bought a set of Feedback Sports jaws on sale at Amazon for $12.61.

As you can see, I lucked out and the new jaws were almost a perfect fit..

I had to drill out the rivets. But since they were "self adjusting jaws" and the rivets were installed "loose", I needed to jam a screwdriver under the jaw to keep the rivets from spinning.

The spacing was a little off. I had to make the holes slightly larger and file them into small slots.

Well, it worked out fine. If I get another 35 years out of this, I'll be pushing 100 years on this earth.
