the less you aggravate the broken ribs the better. Ya dont want to poke a lung. As for healing time, that will vary depending on age, nutrition, & how active you tend to be.
have you had a dual energy x-ray absorptiometry [D.E.X.A.] scan done? Some may refer to it as a bone mass measurement.
