The Belgian Waffle Ride (San Marcos, CA) is Sunday. I'm doing the 75mi "Wafer" route with one of my best friends. He and I are very evenly matched for fitness and skills right now, and I expect it to be a lot of fun introducing him to the world of gravel racing. I'm feeling better about my fitness this year, compared with when I did this race (my first gravel event) last year. It's going to be cool (mid-40s) at the start, but is expected to warm up into the mid-60s, with no rain. I'm hoping to finish in less than 6 hours.
