"Some people" think the Earth is flat too. While we can't rule out the possibility, there's no credible evidence to support the statement that "Lyme disease is certainly an STD". There are some reports of sexual (or at least non-tick-mediated) transfer in animal models, but all that indicates is that it's possible, not that it actually happens in humans. It's far more likely that the folks who claim to have got it from their partners were bitten by a tick at some location where the bite wasn't visible.
