I fiddle around getting the tape just right and find I don't need or want the adhesive so I use
Herringbone Cotton Twill Tape (which is what Newbaums is I believe) in 30' rolls available everywhere and much less expensive. The pale tape shown below on the right with shellacing turns a golden color that matches my leather saddles well. Picture below has many many miles on it and will get a cleaning and shellac touch up soon.
