I am sorry that it happened, but thankful your wife is okay. With a little effort, you'll be able to identify the cyclist. In this country it is a good idea to look all ways when crossing even when the signal is green/go. I even look both ways when crossing a one way street here in New Orleans. Probably not much different in Toronto.
