Another time was in Coloardo as well. In the high desert of Gateway. Being a tiny speck on a massive, and sometimes inhospitable landscape, can foster the feeling. Each time I have felt it, I have been acutely aware of my insignificance.

Yes, I get ‘in the zone’ while riding here on the flats of coastal Florida. Clarity of mind above all. Ability to think laterally, creatively. That’s the benchmark for me, my goal in cycling solo.
