I had a pedal strike actually save me from going down at a crit this summer. I took a corner way too hot trying to save some energy and totally lost traction, and was low siding but out of habit kept pedaling. When the pedal struck the ground it launched my ass into the air and I was able to save it. And then I pulled myself cuz that's the spookiest ****** thing that's happened to me on a bike in a long while.
