Same as in post #17 - Charly Gaul (Luxembourg). He won in 1958 by winning four of the mountain climbing stages in that race. He also won the Giro twice (1956 & 1959), and won a whole bunch of climbing stages in the TdF and Giro. He was the dominant climber of this time, and he didn't mind riding in inclement weather conditions. Also won a lot of one-day and cyclocross races (but never the Paris-Roubaix classic).
