I bought one of their 105 5800s last week for my road bike for $199, don't have it yet. You just have to keep an eye on their closeout section for a deal to pop up. The downsides to single side power meter don't really matter for a normal human. What issues are you worried about? The gen 3 fixed the few I know of. Look up some reviews from Shane Miller and DC Rainmaker.
