I have a 7700 equipped bike from new. It may have 50 thousand miles or even more at this point. I also have a 4400 Tiagra bike from that same era. The dura ace does everything marginally better for certain. My experience is DA is just that much more finicky with age.
I had to replace a sticky freehub, those cable hooks, rear shifter, the BB more than once.
The Tiagra probably has similar mileage and nothing replaced but the BB.

Dura Ace is worth the extra trouble.

I would also check that there is no play in the cable housing as in connects to the STI levers.
It is easy to create a gap when re-wrapping the bars.
