I wave, I like waving. I notice the frequency I get waved at initially is dependent upon my bike and attire. When I’m on my ugly old hybrid or touring bike with some Zoic or Club Ride casual cycling clothes and Shimano SPD sandals I hardly get waved at. If I’m on my Seven wearing Rapha and all color coordinated I get waved at constantly. I only don’t wave if circumstances dictate I need to keep my hands on the bar and my mind focused on safe navigation.
Same experience here (but replace Seven/Rapha with more budget-friendly Cannondale/DHB) - and then I noticed the username

I usually do the head nod, see a lot of cyclists doing the same.
