this might not qualify as a good idea but it works surprisingly well & well balanced. the thing on top is a camera

a wider beam would be nice when out in the woods, but actually lights up everything I need as-is. might even work on the road, just not on high power. don't want to blind anyone, or maybe on high but not on the helmet. mounted down on the bars & tilted down lighting just the road in front of me?
