I don't use any electronics, not even a speedometer since 2001. I've never been a fast climber but I have done a lot of climbing, at least 300,000 feet per year and sometimes more. I can ride by perceived effort well enough to get over whatever I'm climbing. Years ago I tried to figure out how to recover on a climb after I had blown myself up.

I'm never going to beat any good climbers up a hill but I learned how to stay within myself. It's harder now than it was years ago, for sure.
