I was thinking the same thing about either using a small car battery that you can buy at Costco or
Walmart or a motorcycle gel cell.
Someone said that these batteries need to be at or near 100% all the time.
These batteries are cheap so I am actually of thinking of trying them on my eZip: 24volts.
I would tie the batteries in series. Probably a $100 experiment.

I do a daily commute of 7 miles with 3 B&B 12V 8AH batteries and an Amped Bikes 500 Watt hub,
Cheap and effective. I charge at work.
What's a B&B battery and where do you get it?
