Finished my biggest block ever @ 4,800 TSS over the last 5 weeks. I take an easier week every two weeks since I'm old, so it was 4 hard weeks and one slightly easier week. We spent the pandemic building up my ability to absorb more volume/intensity of training to try to get that next jump. The big thing from me was how I felt today. Yesterday was 4 hours with 2 hours endurance followed by 2x20 @ FTP with a 10 min endurance in between and then 45 min of tempo. Today, I went out and did a kind of race sim of 60 miles to see how it felt and it felt surprisingly good. Usually when I get fatigued, my leg speed drops hard, and it didn't today.I was able to put in a 21-mph effort with 4200 feet of climbing with great leg speed. This training stuff works.
