I have successfully completed both 200k and 300k brevets in decent times with training primarily consisting of faster, shorter rides. It is crucial to ride within yourself and not get swept along by quick groups in the beginning or go too hard on early climbs. Go for it!

Thanks David in Maine. I have a week to myself in August while the family is on a girls only trip and I’m thinking of trying a long ride day in that week. I prefer cooler weather so I’ll see what Mother Nature brings!
