Case 2: not frail elderly patient falls with hip fracture : prognosis generally good
Issue is frail elderly patients in poor health are major fall risks and more likely to have a hip fracture.
At least that’s my take on it.
My 82 year old mother with severe COPD fractured her hip and she kept telling me she was going to die. She had been a nurse in a nursing home. I told her she’d be fine but she died 6 weeks later of pneumonia.
