daverup, Plenty of bikes have been built with this arrangement. Most have a support cam roller for the chain to prevent droop when riding. If the rear derailleur has enough wrap-up it would not be needed. The pictures show the chain off the front chainrings hence the loose looking chain with droop. Smiles, MH
