I don't know about getting the serial number. I'd probably have to go check it out to get the serial, and that might lead to making an offer and taking it home...

Champion 2 does appeal to me because I'm overweight. The light touring aspect is also very nice, since I'll probably never actually go on an actual tour. Non cantilever brakes sounds easier to adjust than cantis as well.

It doesn't look like any tourer I'm familiar with, like the Miyatas or Nishikis. I have seen that kind of fork crown in pics of Centurions, Norco (ST), and Apollos.(Gran Tourist/e).

It's priced a little higher than I'd like, but not bad for the area. Not too far from me either. I'd better stop now before I talk myself into it.
