I watched Rich Eisen interview Ray Lewis last evening. Ray said that he watched so much film on the Patriots that he knew the play by the way the linemen put their hands down. Bent fingers was a run; straight was a pass. If the man in the slot had his left leg forward it was one play and if the right was forward it was another. Was it all true? Maybe, maybe not, but it was entertaining.
I don't know that specifically, but there are tells like that all over. There are plenty of cases of a player on offense telling the linebacker he lined up in the wrong position, or vice versa.
