I have about 17k miles on my Ultegra Di2, and never once wondered what the exact charge level was. I typically charge it after ~1,000 miles, or if the flashing green light occurs when holding in a shifter button. Though I have been negligent and let the battery run flat twice in the past year, turning the bike into a single speed, which really sucks in a hilly area.
